KGMU’s Centre for Advanced Research Celebrates Foundation Day, Emphasizes Collaborative Translational Research

Lucknow — The Centre for Advanced Research (CAR) at King George’s Medical University (KGMU) celebrated its Foundation Day with enthusiasm, highlighting the importance of collaboration between scientists and clinicians for impactful translational research.

The event featured a keynote lecture by Dr. Ritu Trivedi, Chief Scientist at CSIR-CDRI, on “Health, Hormones, and Hope.” Drawing from her extensive experience in drug discovery, Dr. Trivedi shared that several products developed in her laboratory are now commercially available and benefiting society.

KGMU Vice-Chancellor Padma Shri Prof. Sonia Nityanand addressed students and researchers, emphasizing that strong collaboration between basic scientists and clinicians is essential for research with high societal impact.

Prof. Vimala Venkatesh, Faculty-in-Charge, presented the department’s major achievements, including high-impact publications, collaborative research projects, and continuous departmental expansion.

The celebration was attended by Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr. Apjit Kaur, Dean Academics Prof. Virendra Atam, Dean Research Prof. Hardeep Singh Malhotra, along with faculty members and students, who actively participated in the program. Departmental achievers were recognized for their outstanding academic and research contributions.

The event was organized by Dr. Ashutosh Shrivastava and reflected KGMU’s commitment to nurturing innovative, collaborative, and socially impactful medical research.
