Lucknow: Ahead of the highly anticipated India vs South Africa T20 match scheduled for December 17 at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium, a crucial coordination meeting was held on Thursday. The meeting was chaired by District Magistrate Vishakh G. and Joint Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) Babloo Kumar, with officials from Ekana Stadium, event organisers, BCCI, and UPCA in attendance.
District Magistrate Vishakh G. emphasised that the match should be conducted in a well-organised manner so that both players and spectators leave with a positive experience. He directed that strict adherence to safety protocols must be ensured and that district administration and stadium authorities work in complete coordination.
Key directives issued during the meeting included:
1. Structural Safety Audit:
The Public Works Department (PWD) was instructed to conduct a comprehensive structural safety audit of the stadium and surrounding areas and submit a safety certificate in time.
2. Cleanliness & Drinking Water:
The Municipal Corporation, along with Ekana Stadium teams, was directed to ensure cleanliness around the outer areas of the stadium. Additionally, arrangements for drinking water at parking zones must be made.
3. Water Tankers & Mobile Toilets:
The Jal Sansthan was directed to deploy water tankers outside the stadium and parking zones, while the Municipal Corporation must ensure proper sanitation and adequate mobile toilet facilities.

4. Food Safety Measures:
The Food Safety Department was asked to form teams in advance for food sampling inside and outside the stadium. These teams must be briefed on safety guidelines and conduct timely sampling. Food quality checks on items sold by authorised vendors inside the stadium must also be completed before and during the match.
5. Medical Readiness:
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) was instructed to coordinate with organisers to place ambulances equipped with life-saving medicines at key entry gates. Two medical camps with specialist doctors and paramedical staff will be set up near major entrances. UPCA and organisers must ensure the presence of an in-stadium medical team as well.
6. Stadium Cleanliness & Control Room:
The stadium administration was directed to maintain full cleanliness inside the premises and establish a centralised control room to ensure inter-departmental coordination.
7. Road Repairs & Lighting:
PWD was instructed to repair all entry and exit ramps on Shaheed Path, while the Municipal Corporation must ensure adequate street lighting for smooth movement of spectators.
Senior officials, including Additional District Magistrate (East) Mahendrapal Singh, ADM (Finance & Revenue) Rakesh Singh, ADM Trans-Gomti, Additional Municipal Commissioner, DCP South, CFO, and DCP Traffic also participated in the meeting.
The administration assured that all necessary arrangements will be completed well in advance to ensure smooth and safe conduct of the international cricket fixture.
