Key Meeting Held Between Zone-7 Councillors and Municipal Commissioner in Lucknow to Address Local Issues

Lucknow : A crucial meeting was held  in the committee hall of the Lucknow Municipal Corporation Headquarters, chaired by Municipal Commissioner  Gaurav Kumar, with councillors of Zone-7. The meeting aimed to engage directly with elected ward representatives and hold an in-depth discussion on pressing civic issues faced at the local level.

Present at the meeting were senior officials including Additional Municipal Commissioner  Lalit Kumar, Chief Engineer (Civil) Mahesh Verma, Chief Engineer (RR)  Manoj Prabhat, Zonal Officer (Zone-7) Akash Kumar, Zonal Sanitary Officer Kuldeepak Singh, and several officers from the engineering department.

Among those in attendance were  Arvind Yadav, representing Councillor  Yogyata Yadav from Shaheed Bhagat Singh – I Ward;  Surendra Valmiki from Lal Bahadur Shastri – I Ward;  Shivam Upadhyay from Shankarpurwa – II Ward; Harish Awasthi, representing Councillor  Rajna Awasthi from Ismailganj – II Ward;  Mukesh Singh Chauhan from Ismailganj – I Ward;  Ashok Kumar Upadhyay from Maithili Sharan Gupt Ward;  Rakesh Kumar Mishra from Lohia Nagar Ward; and  Bhupendra Kumar Sharma from Lal Bahadur Shastri – II Ward.

During the meeting, councillors highlighted a range of civic problems, including the need for regular sewer cleaning, desilting of drains, resolution of waterlogging issues, improvement in street lighting, and effective garbage management. They also demanded strict enforcement of fines against those who litter public spaces. In addition, several councillors called for increased municipal resources to strengthen the sanitation system and emphasized the need to establish model vending zones and construct public toilets in their respective wards.

Municipal Commissioner  Gaurav Kumar assured the councillors that all their concerns and suggestions would be taken seriously. He directed the concerned officials to take swift and effective action and formulate a concrete action plan to address the problems raised. The Commissioner reiterated that resolving ward-level issues in collaboration with elected representatives is a top priority and essential to improving urban governance and public service delivery.

The meeting concluded on a constructive note, with both officials and councillors agreeing to work together for the betterment of civic services and infrastructure across Zone-7.
