Kathak Dance Workshop Concludes with Graceful Performances at Mahamana Malaviya Vidya Mandir

LucknowThe Kathak dance workshop at Mahamana Malaviya Vidya Mandir Inter College, Vivek Khand-1, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, concluded  with a graceful and memorable closing ceremony.

The event was graced by the presence of the institution’s President, world-renowned Kathak exponent Dr. Kumkum Dhar, Vice President Dr. Mithilesh Tiwari, former President of the school Prabhu Narain Srivastava, Principal Professor  Kant Bajpai, and numerous other distinguished guests.

The program commenced with a two-minute silence and prayer in remembrance of the tragic incident in Pahalgam. Following this, floral tributes were offered to the idols of Goddess Saraswati and Mahamana Malaviya. The performance segment began with “Panchdev Ki Vandana,” a devotional offering to the five principal deities. The next presentation beautifully depicted the childhood form of Lord Shri Ram through the rendition of the bhajan “Thumak Chalat Ramchandra” by the students. The third performance showcased the pure traditional form of Kathak in Teen Taal (16 beats) and a Dhrupad (Damaru Har Kar Baje) presented by the instructor Shri Anjul Bajpai, captivating the audience with the intricacies of the dance form. The concluding performance was a mesmerizing Sufi dance, further immersing the audience in the vibrant colors of Kathak. The evident interest of the students, who had honed their skills during the workshop, and the enthusiasm of all the spectators were truly remarkable throughout the entire presentation.
