Mumbai: Filmmaker Karan Johar has lauded the action-packed movie ‘Dhurandhar’, describing it as “outstanding” and expressing admiration for director Aditya Dhar and lead actor Ranveer Singh.
The film, which also features Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, and R. Madhavan, has been dominating the box office since its release on 5 December 2025. Sharing his thoughts on Instagram, Johar wrote, “Aditya Dhar, Ranveer Singh, and Shashwat Sachdeva (my favorite Ranveer performance) deserve immense appreciation. Congratulations to Jio Studios and the entire cast and crew.”
Bollywood stars have joined the praise. Hrithik Roshan called the movie “amazing,” highlighting its artistic merit despite differing political viewpoints, while Ayushmann Khurrana celebrated the film on Instagram, calling it a new peak for Bollywood. Akshay Kumar took to X (formerly Twitter), calling the story “compelling” and praising Dhar’s direction.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, ‘Dhurandhar’ follows Hamza Ali Mazari, an undercover Indian agent who infiltrates a criminal gang in Pakistan. The movie blends action, espionage, and drama, and already hints at a sequel set to release on 19 March 2026.
