Kanpur — In a major step toward combating one of the world’s leading causes of irreversible blindness, the Kanpur Ophthalmic Society hosted a comprehensive masterclass under the “Sambhalbai Reach Out Program” at Hotel Regenta. The event brought together over 50 eye specialists and medical professionals for an intensive training in glaucoma diagnosis and management, marking Kanpur as a rising center for advanced ophthalmic education.
Glaucoma, commonly referred to in India as “kala motiyabind”, is a silent thief of sight that affects millions, often going undetected until significant vision loss occurs. This masterclass aimed to equip ophthalmologists with the latest diagnostic tools, surgical techniques, and practical insights to fight the disease more effectively.
