Lucknow | In a bid to address the persistent traffic issues across Lucknow, Suresh Chablani, Metropolitan President of the All India Industrial & Trade Association (AIITA), met with Deputy Municipal Commissioner Pankaj Srivastava at the Smart City Office, Lalbagh today. During the meeting, Chablani highlighted major traffic bottlenecks and submitted a formal memorandum with suggestions for improvement.
The discussion focused on key congestion points, including Kaiserbagh, where traffic jams are frequent and prolonged due to hundreds of e-rickshaws obstructing the roads. This congestion affects customer access to popular markets like Aminabad and Najirabad, leaving commuters stranded for hours. The memorandum also proposed relocating the Kaiserbagh bus stand outside the city and implementing stricter regulations on e-rickshaws, particularly those driven by minors, at major intersections.
Other critical areas highlighted included the Medical College crossing, Charbagh, and Alambagh’s Avadh Chowk, which consistently experience heavy traffic. The association urged the authorities to streamline traffic flow and ensure better management at these junctions.

The meeting was attended by AIITA leaders including Youth State Secretary Akash Gautam, Senior Secretary Rajeev Kakkar, Anuj Gautam, Senior Vice Presidents Vinay Agrawal and Ramesh Shukla, and Vikas Saxena, along with several local traders.
Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Srivastava listened to the concerns and assured that appropriate measures would be reviewed to improve traffic management and ease congestion at the city’s most problematic intersections.
