Jubilation marks Navratri as LU hostels come alive

Lucknow: On the sixth day of Sharadiya Navaratri, six blocks of Kailash hostel of Lucknow University were named after different names of Maa Durga.

The six blocks were named Yogeshwari Block, Rajeshwari Block, Maheshwari Block, Mahashree Block, Narayani Block and Parmeshwari Block respectively. The stone on all these newly named blocks was unveiled by the respected mother of the Vice Chancellor, Rajeshwari Rai.

Apart from this, Garba program was also organized in which the students of Kailash hostel presented a captivating Garba dance.

The oldest and largest historical hostel for girl students in Lucknow University, Kailash Girls Hall was named after  Kailash Srivastava (Rajya Sabha member) who was the wife of  Jwala Prasad (former Education Minister), who got the grant approved for the transfer of property to the University from the Public Works Department through her special contribution and tireless efforts.

This hostel is equipped with airy clean rooms, common hall, dining hall, playground, lush green lawns, and tall beautiful trees. This hall helps in the overall development of the resident students while fulfilling the objective of unity in diversity.

On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Manuka Khanna graced the program with her dignified presence and gave her blessings to the resident students.

Director IQAC Prof. Sangeeta Sahu, Cultural Director Prof. Anchal Srivastava, Chief Provost Prof. Anup Kumar Singh, Dean Academics Prof. Geetanjali Mishra, Additional Chief Provost Dr. Rajeshwar Yadav and Dr. Anupama Srivastava, Prof. O.P. Shukla, Accounts Officer Antara Banerjee and Provosts and Assistant Provosts of various hostels were present in the program.

Kailash’s Provost Prof. Babita Jaiswal, Assistant Provost Dr. Roli Verma, Dr. Richa Pandey, Dr. Shalini Pathak conducted the program.
