Sultanpur | In a surprise move, a joint team of the District Supply Department and the Regional Transport Office (RTO) carried out sudden raids at several petrol pumps in Sultanpur on Tuesday. The operation was conducted under the directives of District Magistrate Kumar Harsh, with the aim of ensuring compliance with road safety norms.
The inspections were led by District Supply Officer Jivesh Maurya and PTO Surendra Tiwari from the RTO department. During the raid, officials warned petrol pump operators in clear terms that strict action would be taken if fuel was supplied to two-wheeler riders without helmets.
Authorities emphasized that the drive is part of a special campaign to enforce road safety rules and prevent negligence. “No laxity will be tolerated under any circumstances,” officials said, underscoring the administration’s zero-tolerance approach.

The sudden joint action created a stir among petrol pump operators across the district, many of whom were caught off guard by the surprise checks.
