Joint Police Operation Cracks Murder Case in Lucknow’s BKT; Accused Arrested with Stolen Ornaments

Lucknow – In a swift breakthrough, the joint efforts of the Crime Branch and Surveillance Team of Lucknow Police Commissionerate’s North Zone, along with BKT (Bakshi Ka Talab) Police Station, have successfully solved a recent murder case. The accused, who killed a woman with the intent of robbery, has been arrested.

The incident occurred on March 6, 2025, when the deceased woman had purchased a pair of anklets (payal) from a jewelry shop in BKT. The accused, identified as Tejbahadur alias Teja (23), attempted to rob her on her way back. When the woman resisted, Teja allegedly pushed her to the ground, resulting in her death, and fled with the anklets.

Following the incident, BKT Police reached the scene, conducted a preliminary inspection, and sent the body for post-mortem after completing the necessary formalities.

Acting on the directions of DCP North, a special team was formed to investigate the matter. Through diligent efforts, the team traced and arrested Tejbahadur, a resident of Mampur village, BKT, who works as a daily-wage laborer at a brick kiln. The police recovered the stolen pair of anklets weighing 162 grams from his possession.

Officials stated that interrogation is ongoing, and further details related to the case are being probed.
