Jasmine Lamboriya Strikes Gold at World Boxing Championship 2025, Lifts Indian Boxing’s Spirit

New Delhi – India’s Jasmine Lamboriya scripted history on Saturday by clinching the gold medal at the World Boxing Championship 2025, bringing pride and glory to the nation. Competing in the 57kg category, the 24-year-old defeated Poland’s seasoned boxer Julia Szeremeta in the final. The victory was especially significant as Szeremeta had bagged the silver medal at the Paris Olympics 2024.

The Bhiwani-born pugilist displayed grit, precision, and composure throughout the contest, sealing her place among the world’s elite boxers. Lamboriya’s triumph is being hailed as one of the brightest moments in Indian women’s boxing in recent years.

A Setback for Indian Men’s Boxing
While Lamboriya shone, it was disappointment for the men’s team. For the first time in 12 years, Indian male boxers returned empty-handed from the world stage. The final hopes ended when Kazakhstan’s Sanzher Tashkenbe defeated India’s Jadumani Singh 4–0 in a crucial bout.

Lamboriya’s Journey of Determination
Born on August 30, 2001, in Haryana’s boxing hub of Bhiwani, Jasmine Lamboriya has steadily risen through the ranks. Earlier this year, she bagged gold at the World Boxing Cup in Astana, further cementing her position as one of India’s most promising fighters. She also earned bronze medals at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games and the 2021 Asian Championship, showcasing her consistency on the international stage.

Her latest feat is not just a personal milestone but also a boost for Indian women’s boxing, which continues to inspire with stories of resilience and success.
