Jamboree is Not Just a Festival, But a Foundation for a Bright Future: Governor Anandiben Patel

Lucknow: The 19th National Jamboree of Bharat Scouts and Guides was inaugurated with great splendour on Monday by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel at the Defence Expo Ground in Vrindavan Yojana. More than 33,000 Scouts and Guides from across India and abroad showcased discipline, energy and cultural vibrancy during the grand ceremony.

Lauding the enthusiasm of the young participants, Governor Patel said that the Jamboree reflects the spirit of India’s unity in diversity and plays a crucial role in shaping the future of children. “You are the future of this nation. Your energy fills us with pride. Such platforms build leadership, service, discipline and patriotism,” she said, adding that the event is a strong foundation for the bright future of every participating child.

The Governor expressed delight after witnessing the performances and remarked that events like the Jamboree not only nurture talent but also help children grow into confident, responsible citizens. She also appreciated the contribution of teachers, instructors and parents who travelled from various states and countries to be a part of the celebration.

The opening ceremony echoed with patriotic chants of “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram,” creating an electrifying atmosphere. The event also marks the Diamond Jubilee Jamboree, celebrating 75 glorious years of the Bharat Scouts and Guides.

Representatives and guardians from different states praised the excellent arrangements and large-scale preparations. The successful organisation of such a massive event demonstrated that Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a strong and capable venue for national and international gatherings.

The programme was graced by Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharakwal, Bharat Scouts and Guides President Dr. Anil Kumar Jain, Chief National Commissioner Dr. K.K. Khandelwal, UP State President Dr. Mahendra Singh, Jamboree Secretary and State Chief Commissioner Prashant Kumar, and Chief Postmaster General of UP Pranav Kumar, among others.
