New Delhi – In the aftermath of “Operation Sindoor,” India’s targeted military operation that neutralized nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has asserted that the global community must adopt a stance of “zero tolerance for terrorism.”
Jaishankar’s statement, posted on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, underscored India’s firm stance against cross-border terrorism. “The world must show zero tolerance for terrorism. #OperationSindoor,” he wrote.
His remarks follow India’s “Operation Sindoor,” a retaliatory strike targeting terrorist infrastructure in response to the devastating April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali national, and left several others injured.
The Indian Ministry of Defence, in a statement released earlier today, confirmed the execution of “Operation Sindoor,” emphasizing its precision and non-escalatory nature. “A little while ago, the Indian Armed Forces launched ‘OPERATION SINDOOR’, hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed,” the statement read.
The ministry further elaborated on the operation’s strategic approach, stating, “We have taken targeted, methodical, and non-escalatory measures. There have been no attacks against Pakistani military installations. India has shown a great deal of discipline in both target selection and execution strategy.”

According to sources familiar with the operation who spoke to ANI, the Indian Armed Forces executed a coordinated strike utilizing sophisticated precision munitions to effectively hit all nine identified terror targets. These included five locations in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) and four within Pakistan itself, specifically in areas such as Bahawalpur, Muridke, and Sialkot – known hubs for terrorist activities.
The operation involved the coordinated mobilization of personnel and assets from the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. Sources also revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi closely monitored “Operation Sindoor” throughout the night.
Initial reports indicate that all nine targeted locations were successfully hit, inflicting significant damage to the infrastructure used by top leaders of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), who are known to orchestrate and support terrorist activities against India.
