Lucknow: Students of Class IV from Seth M.R. Jaipuria School Goel Campus embarked on an educational excursion to Lucknow Junction Railway Station (Chhoti Line) on Monday, marking the special occasion of the station completing 100 years of service. The visit aimed to introduce young learners to the rich heritage and evolution of the Indian Railways.
As part of the centenary celebrations, the railway administration organised a special exhibition highlighting the remarkable journey of Indian Railways and the historical significance of Lucknow Junction. The exhibition featured several models, artefacts and displays illustrating the transformation of railway technology over the past century.
Students including Vivian, Sakshya Devagya and Prashini shared their excitement about the experience. They observed models of steam engines, the Airavat engine, vintage railway coaches, traditional railway tickets, old weighing machines and the signal systems used in earlier times. These exhibits offered students a glimpse into how railway operations have evolved from traditional systems to modern technologies.
One of the most memorable moments of the visit was a demonstration by a trained dog named Michael, who impressed the children by accurately following the instructions of his trainer. The display created a sense of excitement and curiosity among the students.
The educational visit aimed to help students understand the transformation of the railway system—from conventional methods to modern digital and online advancements. Railway officials appreciated the discipline and enthusiasm shown by the young visitors.
School principal Dr. Rina Pathak also interacted with the students after the visit and expressed happiness over their learning experience, assuring that more such informative and awareness-based educational programmes would be organised in the future.
