IVRI Concludes Advanced Training Programme on Bioclimatology and Artificial Intelligence

Bareilly: The Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), Izatnagar, successfully concluded a 21-day advanced faculty training programme on “Climate-Resilient and Sustainable Livestock Systems: Innovations in Bioclimatology and Artificial Intelligence.” The programme was organized under the Centre for Advanced Faculty Training (CAFT) and sponsored by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.

The valedictory session was graced by Dr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Joint Director (Research), IVRI, as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Roopsi Tiwari attended as the Guest of Honour. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Singh emphasized the urgent need to integrate artificial intelligence, advanced biotechnological tools, and modern physiological approaches to develop climate-resilient and sustainable livestock production systems. He also congratulated the participants and organizers for the successful execution of the programme.

Programme Director Dr. Gyanendra Singh highlighted the importance of such initiatives in strengthening the teaching and research capabilities of faculty members from veterinary and agricultural universities across the country. He elaborated on the objectives and legacy of the CAFT programme, noting that this was the 51st training programme in the series. He also acknowledged the continuous support of ICAR’s Education Division, particularly its HRD wing.

Earlier, Course Coordinator Dr. Hari Abdul Samad presented a comprehensive report of the training programme. He informed that a total of 17 participants, including assistant professors and scientists from universities, ICAR institutes, and Krishi Vigyan Kendras, took part in the programme. Participants represented multiple states including Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Rajasthan, with a balanced gender representation of nine men and eight women.

The programme featured expert lectures from leading national scientists as well as international experts from Texas A&M University. In addition to theoretical sessions, participants received hands-on laboratory training and undertook an educational visit to IVRI’s Mukteshwar campus, enhancing their practical understanding of the subject.

Several senior faculty members and scientists, including Dr. Raghvendra Singh, Dr. Narayan Dutta, and Dr. Praveen Singh, along with other distinguished researchers, were present during the programme.

Certificates were distributed to participants during the closing ceremony. Feedback from attendees was highly positive and is expected to contribute to further refinement and enhancement of future training modules.

The programme was coordinated by Dr. Vikas Chandra, who also conducted the session, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. A. P. Madhusudan, expressing gratitude to the institute administration, ICAR, scientists, staff, and students for their support in making the programme a success.
