Lucknow: In a significant step toward strengthening the linkage between skill development and employment, the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM) held a joint meeting with representatives of Laghu Udyog Bharati to promote the Industrial Training Partnership (ITP) scheme.
The meeting aimed to familiarize industrial units with the scheme’s framework, benefits, and provisions, enabling a more effective alignment between industry requirements and workforce training.
Industry-Led Skill Development Model
Addressing the session, Mission Director Pulkit Khare highlighted that the ITP scheme is designed to create a skilled and employable workforce tailored to the real needs of industries. He emphasized that industries can directly participate in training youth as per their operational requirements, ensuring higher productivity and improved quality standards.
“The objective is not just to provide training but to connect skilled youth with sustainable and dignified employment opportunities,” he said.
Local Talent to Benefit Industries
Under the ITP framework, industries will gain access to a pool of locally trained manpower, significantly reducing recruitment time and associated costs. This approach is expected to simplify hiring processes while ensuring that candidates are job-ready from day one.
Officials noted that the initiative will be particularly beneficial for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), enabling them to scale operations efficiently with access to skilled human resources.

Strengthening Industry-Government Collaboration
Leaders from Laghu Udyog Bharati welcomed the initiative, stating that such collaborative efforts would further strengthen coordination between industry and government.
Organization representatives Ravindra Singh and Keshav Mathur expressed gratitude for the initiative, noting that it would directly benefit both industries and aspiring youth by creating a robust employment ecosystem.
Officials and Participation
The meeting was also attended by senior officials including Mayank Gangwar and M. K. Singh, along with other stakeholders.
Driving Employment and Growth
The ITP scheme is being seen as a key initiative to bridge the gap between training and employment by fostering industry participation in skill development. By creating a steady pipeline of trained professionals, the programme aims to enhance employability, support MSME growth, and contribute to the state’s broader economic development goals.
With initiatives like ITP, Uttar Pradesh continues to focus on building a skilled workforce that meets the evolving demands of industry while generating meaningful employment opportunities at the grassroots level.
