Lucknow: With a rich history of academic excellence, Isabella Thoburn College has been a beacon of knowledge in the city of Lucknow. As a premier Women’s institution, it has nurtured and empowered generations of achievers, thinkers, and changemakers.
The Baccalaureate Awards Ceremony is a glorious tradition of the College, celebrating academic excellence and outstanding achievements of its students. Under the patronage of the College President, Dr. (Mrs.) E.S. Charles, the College hosted this Ceremony on Friday, the 10th of April, 2026 with great delight and enthusiasm, marking the end of a five-year hiatus due to COVID. The Chief guest was Reverend Bishop Dr. C. Selvin who graced the occasion with his wife Mrs. L. Selvin. The Programme began with the Call to Worship by Dr. (Maj.) Neerja Masih, Offg. Principal. The Service included the Scripture Reading, prayers and hymns. The lamp, symbolizing the light of knowledge, was lighted by the Dr. Selvin, Mrs. L. Selvin, Dr. (Maj.) Neerja Masih and the faculties who are superannuating in the academic session 2025-26- Prof. Seema Joshi, Prof. Vinita Vijai and Dr. Paul Mathew, who were felicitated for their rich contribution to the corporate life of the College.
Addressing the gathering, Bishop Dr. C. Selvin began by recalling the founding members of Isabella Thoburn College and commended the institution for upholding their ideals. He encouraged the students to “let their light shine before others.”, and learn from their experience in the college. He also emphasized the value of love in a world torn by hatred. Quoting Vinoba Bhave, he urged the students to love one another, their neighbour, and even their enemies.

Thereafter, Certificates of Appreciation, awards and medals were provided to the following meritorious students for academic and cultural accomplishments:

Post-graduate students Javeria Najam and Vaishali Verma, Tashu, Saima Siddiqui and Ananya Srivastava for securing the highest marks in M.A English, Economics, Geography and Sociology respectively.
Megha Kumari, Aqsa Khan, Uzma Bano, Afreen Khan, Sara Fatima for the highest aggregate in M. Sc. Biotechnology, Chemistry, Nutrition, Zoology and B. Lib. Sc. respectively.
Husna Ansari, who received 3 Gold Medals at the University of Lucknow for securing the highest % of marks in Mathematics at the B.A.III and B. Sc III examination of 2024, was also recognized.
The programme concluded with the words of appreciation and Vote of Thanks by Dr. (Maj.) Neerja Masih.
