IPSEF Delegation Meets Rajnath Singh in Lucknow, Raises Employees’ and Teachers’ Issues

Lucknow: A delegation of the IPSEF met Rajnath Singh in Lucknow to discuss a range of pressing issues concerning employees, teachers, and pensioners across the country.

The delegation included V P Mishra, Atul Mishra, Suresh Rawat, and Sanjay Shukla. They submitted a detailed memorandum and held extensive discussions on long-pending demands.

Key demands raised by the delegation included the implementation of the Eighth Pay Commission recommendations with effect from January 1, 2026, along with an increase in pensions for retired employees. The representatives also strongly advocated for the restoration of the old pension scheme, stating that the current UPS/NPS systems are not acceptable to a large section of employees.

The delegation further demanded job security and minimum wages for outsourced and contractual employees, along with provisions for compassionate appointments. They also called for exempting retiring teachers from TET requirements and urged immediate recruitment and promotions to fill vacant posts, ensuring no disruption in institutional functioning.

Highlighting state-level concerns, the representatives requested that Chief Ministers across states be directed to engage in dialogue with employee unions to resolve pending issues, noting that such communication has stalled in Uttar Pradesh.

The delegation also raised civic concerns in Lucknow, particularly in Indira Nagar’s Awadh Vihar Colony and Harihar Nagar, including garbage disposal and water supply issues. They proposed the installation of submersible pumps and water tanks to ensure access to clean drinking water. Additionally, they requested doorstep LPG supply for employees balancing work and household responsibilities.

Rajnath Singh assured the delegation that the recommendations of the Eighth Pay Commission would be implemented from January 1, 2026, benefiting employees, teachers, and pensioners. He also assured that other concerns would be addressed at the earliest.

For local civic issues, the Defence Minister directed Sushma Kharkwal to take prompt action and ensure early resolution.
