Lucknow: The high-voltage IPL 2025 clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), scheduled to be held this evening at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, has been cancelled due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.
The match, set to begin at 7:30 PM, was expected to draw a crowd of nearly 45,000 fans, many of whom had already purchased tickets. According to sources, refunds will be processed both online and offline, with an official announcement expected soon.
In a major development, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has postponed all remaining IPL matches until further notice. While no new dates have been announced yet, 12 league-stage matches were still to be played before the final, which was originally scheduled for May 25.

Security concerns and the current geopolitical climate are being cited as the primary reasons behind the sudden decision. Authorities in Lucknow had reportedly ramped up security around the stadium in anticipation of the match, but rising national security concerns ultimately led to its cancellation.
The IPL Governing Council is expected to meet in the coming days to reassess the situation and decide on the future course of the tournament. Fans and franchises alike now await clarity on revised schedules.
