Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh has made a resounding impression at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, positioning itself as a leading investment destination on the global stage. The Invest UP Pavilion has emerged as a major attraction, drawing investors, dignitaries, and international visitors with its dynamic presentation of the state’s industrial strength and progressive policies.
Highlighting Uttar Pradesh’s growing global stature, the India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) felicitated the UP delegation for its commendable participation and contribution. The state delegation was led by Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, along with Principal Secretary (Infrastructure & Industrial Development, MSME & Export Promotion) Alok Kumar, Chief Minister’s Secretary Amit Singh, Special Secretary Vipin Kumar Jain, and other senior officials. Together, they showcased Uttar Pradesh’s potential in key sectors like manufacturing, electronics, green hydrogen, renewable energy, and tourism.
Speaking at the pavilion, Minister Khanna emphasized the state’s remarkable progress in emerging industries and reiterated its commitment to strengthening ties with Japan. He referred to the MoUs signed with Japan’s Yamanashi Prefecture, especially in sectors such as industry, tourism, and vocational education, which are expected to deepen bilateral cooperation.
A key highlight of the event was the visit by Mayor Yutaka Kaneko of Sano City, Japan, who was warmly welcomed by senior officials of Invest UP. The Mayor expressed admiration for Uttar Pradesh’s investor-friendly policies and showed keen interest in future collaboration.

In another significant interaction, representatives from the German Pavilion visited the UP Pavilion and held initial discussions on student exchange programs with Indian institutions. Contact details were exchanged with the Invest UP team, laying the groundwork for academic and cultural partnerships.
The participation of Uttar Pradesh in World Expo 2025 underlines the state’s expanding role in economic development, innovation, and international engagement. Through strategic partnerships, trade dialogues, student exchanges, and capacity-building initiatives, Uttar Pradesh is projecting a compelling vision for inclusive, sustainable, and future-ready growth.
