Lucknow: In a strategic move to strengthen district-level industrial ecosystems, Invest UP has inaugurated a five-day Capacity-Building Workshop at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow. The program aims to enhance the effectiveness of investment promotion at the regional and district levels.
The first batch of participants includes industry commissioners, joint commissioners, regional managers, and nodal officers from Industrial Development Authorities across Uttar Pradesh. The workshop is designed to equip officials with leadership skills, strategic thinking, and efficient resource management to improve the ease of doing business in their districts and provide seamless support to investors.
Addressing the inaugural session, Alok Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary (Infrastructure & Industrial Development), emphasized the critical role of district-level leadership in the state’s growth. He urged officers to adopt modern administrative practices, embrace continuous learning, and respond proactively to evolving investor needs.
The workshop covers transformational leadership, strategic planning, financial literacy, communication skills, and the application of new technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), in administration.

Also present at the event were Prerna Sharma, Additional CEO of Invest UP, Prof. Sanjay Singh, Dean of IIM Lucknow, and Program Director Prof. Kshitij Awasthi, along with other senior officials.
The training will run in three batches until May 1, 2026, with a total of 122 officers participating. This initiative is expected to give a fresh momentum to investment promotion at the district level, making UP’s industrial landscape more responsive and investor-friendly.
