Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Akademi, Lucknow (under the Department of Culture, Government of Uttar Pradesh) in collaboration with Bharatiya Adarsh Yoga Sansthan, Lucknow, hosted a vibrant ‘Yoga Samagam’ on June 21, 2025, marking International Yoga Day and World Music Day at the Akademi premises.
The event witnessed the gracious presence of the Chairman of the Akademi, Professor Jayant Khot, Vice-Chairperson Vibha Singh, Director Dr. Shobhit Kumar Nahar, staff of the Akademi and Kathak Kendra, trainers and trainees from ongoing workshops, and members of the Bharatiya Adarsh Yoga Sansthan.
The program began with an enlightening address by Prof. Jayant Khot, who emphasized the deep interconnection between yoga and music, encouraging everyone to incorporate yoga into their daily routines for holistic well-being.
Following this, a live broadcast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address on International Yoga Day was screened. The session then moved to an active yoga demonstration led by Yogacharya Krishna Dutt Mishra, who guided the participants through various asanas and explained their benefits. A collective Surya Namaskar session was also conducted, aimed at setting a global record for synchronized participation.
To mark World Music Day, the same stage transformed into a divine musical setting where devotional bhajans and spiritual compositions were performed. Kamla Kant, Rahul Awasthi, Vice-Chairperson Vibha Singh, and Ustad Gulshan Bharti captivated the audience with their soulful renditions. They were accompanied on tabla by Dr. Rajeev Shukla and Dr. Pawan Tiwari.

Prof. Sahitya Kumar Nahar was also honored with a sapling by the Akademi Chairman.

All participating vocal artists received saplings in recognition of their performances.
The ceremony also celebrated the successful culmination of a five-day yoga series (June 17–21, 2025). In recognition of his dedicated efforts, Yogacharya Krishna Dutt Mishra was awarded a certificate of appreciation. The entire series was seamlessly conducted by Sunil, whose contributions were lauded.
