Gorakhpur: The international border between India and Nepal has been opened for the movement of tourists and pilgrims. This international border was closed during the outbreak of COVID-19. From the tourism point of view, this international border is an important link between India and Nepal.

With the opening of this border, tourists will be able to visit the natural and scenic places of India and Nepal, this will benefit both the countries. Along with this, cultural and economic relations between the two countries will be strengthened.

This information was given by the state’s Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh. He said that Dhangadhi and Gauriphanta crossing located between India and Nepal was closed for two years. The reopening of the Gauriphanta-Dhangadhi border is of special importance for nature lovers.

This route provides direct access to various landscapes and diverse wildlife. Dudhwa National Park located in Lakhimpur district of Uttar Pradesh is a protected forest area. Surrounded by dense forests, this area is the most suitable area for the Royal Bengal Tiger. Every year a large number of wildlife lovers reach here. This national park is adjacent to Dhangadhi city of Nepal.

The Tourism Minister said that Bardia National Park attracts tourists from India who wish to visit Nepal. Those who visit Nepal get to see a large population of tigers and one-horned rhinoceros in Bardia Park. Shukla Phanta National Park is a living example of breathtaking views and biodiversity.

It is the second largest grassland in Asia. At the same time, Chitwan National Park in Nepal, which has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, is the first choice of tourists. It is famous for dense forests, wildlife safari and amazing biodiversity.

After a long time, tourists from India and Nepal will get an opportunity to visit and roam in each other’s country again. The tourist places present in Nepal are not only a paradise for nature lovers, but also a gateway for spiritual seekers between the two (India and Nepal) countries.

Jaiveer Singh said that the reopening of the Gauriphanta-Dhangadhi international border is good news for Buddhist tourists. This route provides tourists from Nepal an opportunity to visit various wildlife sanctuaries of Uttar Pradesh and sacred Buddhist sites like Sarnath, Kushinagar. At the same time, it inspires an exciting journey to the destinations falling under the Buddhist circuit.

This bilateral gateway will strengthen cultural and economic relations between India and Nepal in the near future. It is expected that the mutual relations between the two countries will deepen and a deep understanding of the natural and historical heritage will develop.
