Inter-College Karate Championship (Men & Women) Held at Rohilkhand University

Bareilly: Under the guidance of the Vice-Chancellor, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University successfully organised an Inter-College Karate Championship (Men/Women) at the Pandit Deendayal Sports Complex on the university campus. Students from various affiliated colleges participated with great enthusiasm, displaying skill, discipline and true sportsmanship.

The competition witnessed spirited performances by both male and female karate players, and outstanding athletes were shortlisted on the basis of merit and performance. Selected players will represent the university at the All India Inter-University Karate Championship (Men/Women) 2025–26, being organised by Dibrugarh University.

The event began with a welcome address by the Sports Secretary, who emphasised that sports are not merely physical activities but also a medium for developing discipline, team spirit and positive energy. He praised the participants for their dedication, enthusiasm and adherence to the spirit of fair play throughout the competition.

The Vice-Chancellor extended blessings and best wishes to all players, encouraging them to continue striving for excellence at higher competitive levels.

Several university officials and sports administrators were present during the event, including Registrar Harish Chand, Examination Controller Sanjeev Kumar Singh, Campus Sports Secretary Dr. Neeraj Kumar, Co-Sports Secretaries Dr. Ajit Singh and Vijay Kumar Singhal, Assistant Sports Secretaries Dr. Inderpreet Kaur and Dr. Iram Naeem, along with karate experts, sports staff and team managers and coaches from participating colleges.

The successful organisation of the championship highlighted the university’s commitment to promoting sports and nurturing athletic talent among students.
