Bhopal: A bizarre incident from the Kolar area of the Madhya Pradesh capital has left both residents and police officials stunned. Police have arrested a young man accused of sneaking into homes late at night to steal women’s undergarments.
The accused, identified as Deepesh, was allegedly carrying out the thefts in Amarnath Colony under the cover of darkness. The matter came to light late Tuesday night when a local dairy businessman noticed suspicious movement on the balcony of his house around 12:30 am. On stepping outside and raising an alarm, the resident saw a man fleeing with women’s clothing in his possession.
During his hurried escape, the accused reportedly dropped his labour card at the spot, which helped establish his identity. The victim immediately informed the Kolar police, who launched a search operation based on the available evidence.
Following the complaint and verification of details, police conducted a raid at the accused’s residence on Wednesday. What they found there left the police team shocked. Deepesh was found asleep in his house, allegedly wearing some of the stolen women’s undergarments at the time of the raid.
The accused was taken into custody immediately, and further investigation was initiated. The incident has since become a topic of widespread discussion in Amarnath Colony and surrounding areas, with residents expressing concern over safety and security.
Police officials stated that the accused has been arrested and legal proceedings are underway. “The evidence recovered and the condition in which the accused was found point towards unusual behaviour. We are also examining whether he has been involved in similar incidents earlier or is suffering from any psychological issues,” an official said.
Authorities are continuing the investigation to determine the full extent of the accused’s activities and to ensure appropriate legal and medical evaluation as required.
