India-China: Clashes took place in the year 2020
It is worth noting that the Ministry of External Affairs had confirmed last week that the military standoff that arose between India and China in 2020 on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) near Ladakh has been resolved. After discussions at the diplomatic and military level between the two countries, an agreement has been reached on military patrolling, after which the forward deployment from both sides was to end. In the year 2020, the armies of India and China came face to face. Soldiers from both sides also died in the clash between the armies of the two countries. Since then, India-China relations had soured. Later, talks started at the level of the Ministry of External Affairs and the military to end this deadlock.
Talks between PM Modi and Jinping in BRICS
After the military deadlock ended, talks were held between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the BRICS talks. Under the agreement, both sides will return to the situation before April 2020. However, both Delhi and Beijing will continue to have monitoring options in Depsang and Demchok and will inform each other before going on patrol to avoid any misunderstanding.
