New Delhi: India will host England, Australia, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe in the new Women’s 2025-2029 Future Tour Program (FTP). Based on this, the fourth season of the ICC Women’s Championship will also be played. Not only this, some major ICC tournaments and some tri-series will also be included in it.
The ICC announced this schedule on Monday. According to this, India will play its matches in New Zealand, South Africa, West Indies and Ireland in the same period. The second FTP of women will be scheduled from May 2025 to April 2029.
Under this FTP, an ICC women’s competition will be held every year. The first Champions Trophy of six teams will be held in 2027. Other competitions during this time are – ICC Women’s ODI World Cup (India) in 2025, Women’s T20 World Cup (UK) in 2026 and another edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup in 2028 (host is yet to be announced).
The number of teams participating in the ICC Women’s Championship will be 11 this time. Zimbabwe has been added to the championship for the first time. In total, 132 ODIs will be played in 44 three-match series, which will also be important for qualification for the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup in 2029.
Ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, England will host India and New Zealand for a triangular series while Pakistan and West Indies teams will travel to Ireland. Sri Lanka and West Indies are among the other members who are to host T20 triangular series in 2027 and 2028 respectively.
ICC General Manager of Cricket Wasim Khan said, “We are all very excited. This new women’s FTP is going to be very spectacular. All the teams will be seen performing tremendously in it. Zimbabwe has been included as the 11th team. The FTP will also prove to be very helpful for the teams and the fans. All the members are very happy with the upcoming FTP and we are also planning for triangular series in ICC events.”
