Ahmedabad: The over confidence and without any homework led to defeat of India in the very first match of the super league at Ahmedabad. The same thing happened to Sri Lanka while chasing a small total against England.
The INDIANS were totally vulnerable both in bowling and batting departments. The aimless bowling has allowed the Springbrook batters to pileup a good score of 188 runs. Although they had a initial shock when they lost 3 wickets for only 20 runs. Hats off to Bumrah for always giving excellent performance in most of the matches. Just see he conceded 7 runs in his first spell and 8 runs in his second spell.Arshdeep also had a fairly good spell. The other bowlers simply had a horrible spell and allowed the opponents not only to stage a comeback but to post a winning total. Varun was simply aimless and instead of bowling into the stumps he was bowling negative and thus conceded too many runs .Hardiik couldn’t control his tantrum and also conceded and was also a culprit in allowing the South Africans to impose a big total. Dubey was horrible whereas Washington’s role was not understable. Infact Kuldeep should have been there in the team.

The batting started on a shocking note when inform Ishan Kishan out for a blob in the very first over. Verma tried to finish the match from the word go and soon found himself resting in the pavilion. Abhishek break the zero quo by hitting 4 on the first ball he faced. He was not looking at his best and needs some advice from Yuvraj. Captain started on a sizzling note but couldn’t increase the desired run rate thereafter. The South African bowlers bowled in a planned way and never allowed the Indian batsmen to make quick runs. Frankly speaking they had the strong grip over the match when we lost the wicket of Ishan.
We should include both Kuldeep and Patel in the next two matches otherwise it would be difficult for us to retain the World Cup. The way we bowled and batted do we look like champions????
