Indian Water Leadership Conclave and Water Summit Organised by ASSOCHAM in Delhi

New Delhi: The Indian Water Leadership Conclave and Water Summit, organised by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), was held in the national capital, bringing together leading experts, policymakers, scientists and stakeholders from across the country to deliberate on critical water-related challenges and solutions.

During the two-day event, prominent individuals and grassroots workers from across India were honoured for their significant contributions to water conservation, management and sustainability. Awards were presented to recognise impactful work carried out in the field of water resources.

Several distinguished personalities were present on the occasion, including Dr Ambika Sharma, Joint Secretary General, ASSOCHAM; Mohammad Safi, Chairman, National Council – Water; Siddharth Desai; Dr B. Sen Gupta, former Secretary General, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB); Vikas Goyal from the Asian Development Bank; and Abhay Kumar Yadav, Additional Director, ASSOCHAM.

ASSOCHAM, one of India’s largest and oldest apex trade bodies, represents over 4.5 lakh industrial and business enterprises across the country. Established in 1920, the organisation has played a pivotal role in promoting trade, industry and economic development, while also actively engaging in social and developmental initiatives from time to time.

The inaugural session of the conclave was formally opened by Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti, Dr Raj Bhushan Choudhary, who emphasised the importance of sustainable water management and collaborative efforts between government, industry and civil society. The programme concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where awards were handed over to deserving individuals and organisations.

The event witnessed the participation of several senior officials, water scientists, hydrogeologists and public representatives, making it a significant platform for dialogue and knowledge exchange on water leadership and sustainability.

Organisers expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, participants and invitees for contributing to the success of the conclave and reaffirmed ASSOCHAM’s commitment to supporting initiatives that address India’s pressing water challenges.
