India Slams Pakistan at UNSC Over Kashmir and Terrorism, Reaffirms Zero Tolerance Stance

New York: India delivered a firm and unapologetic rebuttal to Pakistan at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) after Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar raised the Kashmir issue during discussions on international peace and security.

India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, P. Harish, forcefully countered Pakistan’s claims, stating,

“On one hand, we have India — a thriving democracy, an inclusive society, and one of the fastest-growing major economies. On the other, there is Pakistan — steeped in terrorism and radicalism, repeatedly seeking bailouts from the International Monetary Fund.”

During his address, Harish emphasized that fundamental global principles — particularly a zero-tolerance approach to terrorism — must be upheld unequivocally by all member states.

“No member of this Council has the right to preach if it engages in practices that are wholly unacceptable to the international community,” he said.

On Ceasefire and Pakistan’s Contradictions

Speaking on the issue of ceasefire, Ambassador Harish noted that India halted military operations at Pakistan’s request after achieving key objectives under Operation Sindoor, reiterating India’s commitment to peace and regional stability.

Strong Response on Kashmir and Indus Waters Treaty

Responding to Pakistan’s attempt to internationalize the Kashmir issue and refer to the Indus Waters Treaty, Harish firmly declared,

“Jammu and Kashmir is, and will remain, an integral part of India. We will not tolerate any questioning of our sovereignty.”

He went on to expose Pakistan’s duplicity, slamming its selective outrage.

“Pakistan’s attempts to bring bilateral matters to multilateral platforms are not only misleading but also underscore its double standards — especially on terrorism and peace,” he added.

Call for Unified Stand Against Terrorism

In conclusion, India dismissed Pakistan’s assertions outright and called upon the international community to stand united in the fight against global terrorism.

“The time has come for collective global resolve to dismantle terror networks and reject the narratives that try to legitimize them,” Harish stated.

India’s stance at the UNSC reinforces its evolving role as a responsible global power unwilling to tolerate propaganda, especially when it comes from nations harboring and exporting terrorism.
