Lucknow – Since the United Nations adopted June 21 as International Yoga Day in 2014, India has spearheaded a global movement promoting the timeless knowledge and practice of yoga. Under the guidance of the Ministry of AYUSH, the country has successfully celebrated ten editions of the International Yoga Day, inspiring millions worldwide to embrace yoga as a transformative force for unity, health, and harmony.
As preparations for the 11th edition of International Yoga Day in 2025 gain momentum, spiritual and wellness leaders are calling on citizens to participate in the movement. Swami Muktinathanandaji Maharaj, President of the Ramakrishna Math, Lucknow, urged residents to take part in the upcoming celebrations.
“It was only due to the vision and efforts of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi that the UN declared June 21 as International Yoga Day in 2014. This global recognition is a testament to India’s rich cultural heritage and a matter of national pride. Every year, collective yoga demonstrations under the Prime Minister’s leadership have symbolized global unity, health, and peace,” said Swami Muktinathanandaji.
The Vivekananda Polyclinic’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Yoga & Naturopathy Department, is organizing a daily yoga camp from 5:45 AM to 6:45 AM at the temple courtyard of Ramakrishna Math, Nirala Nagar, Lucknow. The sessions will continue until June 21, culminating in a grand event on International Yoga Day.
With the countdown to June 21, 2025, the Ministry of AYUSH has launched an expansive outreach campaign, emphasizing that “Yoga is not merely a practice, but a national movement for holistic health, inner peace, and global well-being.”
