India Energy Week 2026 to Showcase India’s Energy Security and Capabilities Amid Global Uncertainty

New Delhi: India Energy Week (IEW) 2026, the first major global energy conference of the year, will be organised to highlight India’s energy security framework and growing capabilities at a time of prolonged global volatility. Returning with its next edition as a leading platform for global energy dialogue, IEW 2026 will underline how India’s infrastructure expansion, policy interventions and structural reforms have strengthened energy availability and affordability for its citizens.

Against the backdrop of global price instability and supply disruptions, IEW 2026 will focus on India’s integrated energy security model. The conference will explore how large economies can reinforce energy security while safeguarding consumers and sustaining economic growth through broad-based participation of global energy stakeholders.

The event will place special emphasis on India’s efforts to ensure affordable and reliable access to energy through infrastructure expansion, the adoption of cleaner fuels and targeted policy measures. The transition towards cleaner fossil fuels has been reinforced by large-scale infrastructure development, which has played a crucial role in achieving last-mile energy access across the country. Expansion of fuel retail networks, natural gas distribution systems and urban gas infrastructure has significantly improved accessibility for both household and industrial consumers.

India Energy Week 2026 will assess these initiatives as part of a structured energy transition strategy that balances hydrocarbons, alternative fuels and future-ready systems. The strategy focuses on ensuring reliability, resilience and sustainability while navigating the complexities of a changing global energy landscape.

The conference will also highlight how targeted policy interventions have helped protect consumers amid sharp fluctuations in global energy prices. Strategic measures taken by the government and oil marketing companies have contributed to price stability and substantially reduced the impact of global volatility on domestic consumers. Steps such as reductions in fuel duties and support to domestic LPG consumers have played a key role in keeping prices affordable, cushioning economic shocks and maintaining market stability.

These policy initiatives demonstrate how prudent governance can safeguard citizens while preserving stability in the energy sector—a theme expected to generate in-depth discussions among participating governments and international stakeholders.

IEW 2026 will further showcase India’s reform-driven approach to reducing long-term import dependence. Legislative and regulatory reforms in the upstream oil and gas sector have enhanced transparency, simplified approval processes and created a more investor-friendly ecosystem. Key reforms include streamlined leasing mechanisms, time-bound approvals, long-term policy stability, infrastructure-sharing provisions, investor risk-mitigation measures and robust environmental safeguards.

By presenting these reforms on a global platform, India Energy Week 2026 positions India’s policy framework as a model for countries seeking to boost domestic energy production while advancing sustainability goals.

Organised under the patronage of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, by the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry in association with DMG Events, India Energy Week 2026 aims to further strengthen international cooperation in the areas of energy security, affordability and sustainability.
