Thiruvananthapuram | India sealed the five-match Women’s T20 International series against Sri Lanka in emphatic fashion, registering an eight-wicket victory in the third match at the Greenfield International Stadium here on Friday. With this win, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side took an unassailable 3–0 lead, successfully clinching the series with two matches to spare.
Chasing a modest target of 113, India reached the mark in just 13.2 overs, showcasing their dominance. Opener Shafali Verma starred with a blistering unbeaten 79 off 42 balls, smashing 11 fours and three sixes in a commanding display. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur remained unbeaten on 21, guiding the chase calmly after early setbacks. However, Smriti Mandhana (1) and Jemimah Rodrigues (9) failed to make an impact, both dismissed by Sri Lankan spinner Kavisha Dilhari.
Earlier, Sri Lanka, after being put in to bat, managed 112 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs. Imesha Dulani top-scored with 27 off 32 balls, while Hasini Perera (25), Kavisha Dilhari (20) and wicketkeeper Kaushani Nuthyangana (19 not out) provided useful contributions. India’s bowlers were clinical, with pacer Renuka Singh Thakur claiming four wickets, and spinner Deepti Sharma picking up three.

India made two changes to their playing XI, bringing in Renuka Singh Thakur and Deepti Sharma, while Sneh Rana and Arundhati Reddy were rested. Sri Lanka, meanwhile, made three changes to their lineup.
The fourth match of the series will be played at the same venue on December 28, as India look to extend their winning streak.
