Trophy to Be Named After Anderson-Tendulkar
This series, which is part of the 2025-27 ICC World Test Championship, will run from June to August. Matches are scheduled to be played at Headingley in Leeds, Edgbaston in Birmingham, Lord’s and The Oval in London, and Old Trafford in Manchester.

Notably, the Test series between India and England will now be named the ‘Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy,’ in honor of England’s legendary fast bowler James Anderson and India’s iconic batsman Sachin Tendulkar. This decision was taken by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) ahead of the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) Final.
Sachin Tendulkar himself is expected to unveil the Tendulkar-James Anderson Trophy at Lord’s during the WTC 2025 Final, which begins on June 11th.
Sachin Tendulkar amassed 15,921 runs in 200 Test matches with the help of 51 centuries and 68 half-centuries. His Test career spanned from 1989 to 2013, making him the highest run-scorer in Test cricket. James Anderson, on the other hand, is the leading fast bowler in Test history with 704 wickets in 188 Test matches between 2003 and 2024, including 32 five-wicket hauls in an innings.
