In late night meeting, CM strategizes action for Hathras

Lucknow: As soon as the information of the accident in the religious gathering going on in Hathras was received, CM Yogi Adityanath, who was present in Lucknow, came into action. Hurt by the incident, the Chief Minister not only sent three ministers to the spot but also immediately sent the Chief Secretary and DGP to improve the arrangements. The meeting of senior officials continued at the Chief Minister’s residence till late evening, while the Chief Minister kept taking direct updates from the ministers and officials who went to the spot.

Along with giving instructions for FIR against the organizers, the Chief Minister made all necessary arrangements for the proper treatment of the injured. The health department of Hathras and Etah as well as the surrounding area was activated so that a team of adequate doctors is available for treatment. Meanwhile, an NDRF team was also sent to the spot to improve relief work. The Chief Minister has said that whoever is guilty of the incident will not be spared, strict action will be taken against him. On the other hand, the district administration has issued helpline numbers 05722227041 and 05722227042 to help the common people.

Prime Minister Modi has also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund to the next of kin of each deceased and Rs 50,000 to those injured in the stampede. Apart from this, Yogi Adityanath has also issued instructions to provide financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased in this accident and Rs 50,000 each to the injured.

FIR lodged against main organizer

FIR lodged against Devprakash Mathur, the main organizer of Hathras Pravachan Samaroh, under BNS sections 105, 110, 126, 223, 238. Baba is underground. Police has surrounded his ashram in Mainpuri. His office is on Mainpuri Highway. It is being told that Baba is hiding in this office. Police has surrounded Baba’s office late on the night of 2 July.

Number of deaths 121

According to the district administration, the number of people killed in the stampede incident in Hathras increased from 116 to 121. However, a total of 134 deaths are being reported.
