Lucknow/Ghaziabad: The Yogi government is taking a dual approach in its fight against corruption: enforcing a strict zero-tolerance policy while also recognizing and rewarding dedicated and honest employees.

In a recent initiative in Ghaziabad, the driver and conductor of a city electric bus operated under urban transport were selected to receive certificates for their integrity, based on departmental recommendations. This effort aims to motivate other employees to uphold ethical standards in their duties.

On Wednesday, an unidentified female passenger accidentally left her purse on bus number UP 14 KT 6554 of the Bahrampur depot under Ghaziabad City Trans Ltd., plying on the Loni route.

Conductor Satyendra (ID 231) and driver Asif found the purse and displayed commendable honesty by promptly delivering it to the Bahrampur bus depot of Ghaziabad City Trans Ltd.

The purse contained Rs 6,000 in cash and other essential items. After an investigation, the purse was returned to the passenger’s family. To encourage integrity among other employees, a certificate of appreciation has been announced for both Conductor Satendra and Driver Asif in recognition of their honesty.

Depot Operations Manager Jyoti Saxena stated that to foster an ethical work culture among employees, regular counselling sessions for operators are conducted from the command center. They are being encouraged to uphold ethics and transparency in their daily responsibilities.

The operators, under continuous monitoring, are consistently demonstrating loyalty and integrity. This incident serves as a prime example of that commitment. To further encourage this behaviour, certificates will be awarded to both employees on Thursday, inspiring others in the depot and department.
