Improved SSR reports guiding for better NAAC show

Lucknow: State Governor and Chancellor  Anandiben Patel joined online from Raj Bhavan  and reviewed the presentation for NAAC of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut. The Governor reviewed the point-wise presentation on all the seven evaluation criteria and provided broad guidelines for the expected improvements.

The Governor asked the students of the university to explain the importance of NAAC grade, give feedback and according to their feedback, the required improvements should be done on priority. She stressed upon the University to include in the details the extension activities carried out outside the campus and to extend the benefits of extension activities to the adopted villages.

During the review of the fourth criteria, the Governor asked to include maximum three or four selected photographs as proof. She said that in each photo, the description of the activity must be included in the caption. In the fifth criterion, he also emphasized on adding mention of the work done on the use of drone technology and robotics.

She said that all the features of the university should be mentioned on priority in the description. She asked the Vice Chancellor of the University to review the presentation of each criteria. She said there is a need for holistic improvement in criteria three, six and seven.

The agricultural universities of the state were not applying for NAAC in the process of determining their national ranking. As part of the efforts made by the Governor and Chancellor  Anandiben Patel on a war footing for higher educational systems and quality improvement in the universities of the state, agricultural universities were also encouraged to get NAAC grading, as a result of which Kanpur’s Chandrashekhar Azad Agricultural and The University of Technology was the first among the 74 agricultural universities in the country to achieve the ‘B+’ NAAC grade and achieved the status of being the first agricultural university to receive NAAC grading.

Under the guidance and encouragement of the Governor and Chancellor, in continuation of the ongoing efforts of NAAC grading by the universities of the state, agricultural universities are also working to get the highest grade of NAAC by preparing their better SSRs.
