IIT Madras’ SWAYAM Plus Launches ‘AI for All’ Courses in Hindi

Lucknow | In a major step toward inclusive digital education, IIT Madras–led online learning platform SWAYAM Plus has launched its flagship ‘AI for All’ programme in Hindi, making artificial intelligence education accessible to a much wider audience across India.

Under this initiative, six free online AI courses are now available in Hindi. These include AI for Educators, AI in Physics, AI in Chemistry, AI in Accounting, Cricket Analytics with AI, and AI/ML using Python. The courses are designed for beginners and do not require any prior knowledge of AI or coding. Basic digital literacy and an interest in learning are sufficient, making the programme suitable for students, teachers, faculty members, and working professionals alike.

The courses are curated by experts from the IIT Madras ecosystem, combining strong academic foundations with industry-relevant insights. The curriculum focuses on hands-on learning, use of real datasets, and case study–based approaches, with a clear emphasis on employability and practical application.

The last date to register for all six courses is 26 January 2026. Interested learners can register through the official portal. For queries or callback requests, learners may contact the programme team via email.

SWAYAM Plus is an initiative of IIT Madras under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, aimed at delivering high-quality, employment-oriented online education at scale.

Welcoming learners from across the country, Prof. R. Sarathi, Dean (Planning), IIT Madras, said that the launch of the Hindi versions would significantly expand the reach of AI education. He noted that the initiative is intended to remove language barriers, strengthen conceptual understanding, and encourage participation from students and professionals belonging to arts, science, commerce, and allied disciplines.

Each course spans 25 to 45 hours and is free to access. Learners who wish to obtain certification can opt for a paid online proctored examination, which can be taken remotely.

The SWAYAM Plus platform currently hosts over 500 courses across more than 15 sectors, including Engineering, BFSI, Hospitality, and IT/ITeS, and has reached over 4.75 lakh registered learners. Several courses are credit-aligned and vetted by IIT Madras experts, supporting both academic progression and workforce readiness.

The ‘AI for All’ campaign was first launched in May 2025 in collaboration with IIT Madras Pravartak. The initial edition featured five AI courses aligned with the National Credit Framework and attracted more than 42,000 registrations. A second edition introduced in September 2025 added AI for Educators and recorded over 50,000 registrations, paving the way for the Hindi rollout in 2026.
