Lucknow: The 32nd batch of the Defence General Management Programme (DGMP) for Defence Officers commenced at IIM Lucknow with an inaugural ceremony and lamp lighting, graced by Chief Guest Brigadier Bikram Heeru, Programme Directors Prof. Suresh Jakhar and Prof. Rakesh V. The six-month non-residential programme, titled Advanced Programme in Global Operations & Supply Chain Management, enrolled 55 defence officers from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, aiming to prepare them for corporate careers.
Brigadier Heeru, a distinguished alumnus of the Officers Training Academy and an experienced Army officer, has held key operational and administrative roles, including Director at Army Headquarters and Commander of an Artillery Brigade. His career spans diverse operational environments and advanced instructional training, such as the Defence Services Staff Course.
The DGMP emphasizes equipping officers with essential tools for transitioning to the corporate sector. Over the years, the program has evolved to address the dynamic challenges of global operations and supply chain management.
