Lucknow: The Haryana School Education Project Council has taken a significant step towards enhancing the skills of educators. In collaboration with IIM Lucknow, the council has launched a special training program on career guidance and counseling for subject experts.
This initiative has been developed under the guidance of Haryana School Education Department Commissioner and Secretary, IAS Pankaj Agarwal, and is being overseen by State Project Director IAS Jitendra Kumar. The program’s execution is entrusted to Joint State Project Director HCS Dr. Mayank Verma, Advisor Sanjay Kumar, and Project Coordinator Sonali Vohra.
The five-day training program, conducted from February 3 to February 7 at IIM Lucknow included participation from 18 educators representing various districts of Haryana. Sessions were led by distinguished international faculty from IIM, IAS officers, and experts from NCERT, New Delhi.
The training focus was to refine teachers’ leadership and management skills to improve school administration. Educators are being equipped with expertise in providing effective career guidance and counseling to students. Upon completion, trained teachers will serve as key resource persons (KRPs) responsible for implementing the program across the state.
Additionally, plans are underway to develop a ‘Happiness Curriculum’ for schools, incorporating insights gained from the IIM Lucknow program. This initiative highlights the Haryana Government’s commitment to advancing the education sector by empowering teachers with modern skills.
