Aligning with this year’s theme of “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” the event highlighted the role yoga plays in nurturing physical and mental strength
LUCKNOW, 21st June 2025:Indian Institute of Management Lucknowcelebrated the International Day of Yoga (IDY) on 21st June 2025 with participation from more than 200 community members, including students, faculty, staff, and officials. The event was graced by Prof. Sanjeet Singh, Dean (Faculty), alongside Prof. Ashutosh Sinha, Prof. Pankaj Kumar, Prof. O. S. Vaidya, Prof. PushpendraPriyadarshi, Prof. Arvind Shroff, Prof. K.B. Gupta and Col. Sanjeev Bakhshi, Chief Administrative Officer, IIM Lucknow.
Additionally, Mr. Sreekesh P. Retail Branch Banking Head, North-3, Mr. Kunal Gupta, Circle Head, Lucknow, Mr. SayanNandy, Cluster Head, Lucknow North, and Mr. Amit Kumar (Branch Manager), from Axis Bank; Mr. Manoj Kumar Saxena, Regional Head, and Mr. Piyush Devgan, Deputy Regional Head, from Central Bank of India, and Mr. Anil Kumar, General Manager, State Bank of India, Lucknow and Bareilly Module, Mr. Dheeraj Kumar, Deputy General Manager, Lucknow West Module, Mr. Kumar Parimal, Regional Manager, Lucknow-West-1, and Ms. Swati Singh, Branch Manager, from State Bank of India, graced the event as special guests and event partners.
Aimed at promoting physical and mental health, the participants performed 20 asanas during the event, which highlighted the benefits of yoga, built community spirit, and enhanced global awareness and personal development.
Addressing the participants during the event, Prof. Sanjeet Singh, Dean (Faculty), highlighted the importance and benefits of yoga in maintaining one’s health and emphasised on practicing yoga daily.
This year’s theme for the International Day of Yoga was “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” emphasising the interconnectedness of human well-being and planetary health through the holistic practice of yoga.
To celebrate the spirit of wellness and unity, the Institute also organised a Yoga Competition on 14th June 2025, which saw active participation from more than 70 participants across four age categories. As part of the International Day of Yoga celebrations, the Institute acknowledged the outstanding performers of this competition with prizes and participation certificates during the event.
The International Day of Yoga activities at IIMLucknow aligned with the holistic development goals of the Institute and contributed to creating a healthier and more harmonious learning environment. The integration of physical and mental wellness practices enriched the campus culture, promoting overall well-being.
