New Delhi/Jammu: In a heartwarming gesture, actress Huma Qureshi paid tribute to the courage and commitment of Indian Army and Border Security Force (BSF) personnel during a special event organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department in collaboration with the BSF. The event, held at the Octroi General Area in Suchetgarh, aimed to promote tourism in the region and honor those who protect the nation’s borders.
Addressing the gathering, Huma said with emotion, “We are safe because of you. We are fortunate.” Her presence and words were met with enthusiasm and gratitude from the soldiers and locals present at the event.
During her visit, the actress interacted with soldiers and families affected by cross-border firing and ceasefire violations. She expressed deep respect for their resilience and unwavering service.

“I came here to boost the morale of our BSF jawans, our military personnel, and especially our women soldiers. I am truly moved by the love and respect I’ve received here. Once again, I’m reminded how fortunate we are to have such brave souls guarding our borders and ensuring our safety,” she said.
Huma Qureshi also lauded the dedication of the security forces during ‘Operation Sindoor’, acknowledging their sacrifices and steadfast defense of India’s frontiers.
“This is the time to come together and defeat hate. Visit Jammu and Kashmir, feel its beauty. It is only because of the bravery of our armed forces that peace has returned to the borders. I am sincerely grateful to the BSF and the Indian Army. Recent events have further highlighted your crucial role in our nation’s strength,” she said, adding that Jammu and Kashmir stands strong because of the courage and sacrifice of its protectors.
In a heartfelt appeal to citizens and tourists, the actress urged people not to let fear define the identity of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Let us not allow fear to be Jammu and Kashmir’s identity. Let the world witness the peace, strength, and love that truly define this land and its people. Today, we all stand united with pride and hope — and that is the spirit of Jammu & Kashmir and of India.”
