Historic Initiative: Free Sanitary Napkins for Women Passengers at Allamnagar Railway Station

Lucknow, India –  In a landmark move to promote the health, dignity, and convenience of women travelers, Northern Railway’s Lucknow Division has installed six free sanitary napkin vending machines at Allamnagar Railway Station on Thursday.

The machines have been strategically placed in the station’s women’s waiting room and the second-class waiting area, ensuring easy access for women passengers of all categories. This facility will provide women travelers with essential hygiene products, promoting health and convenience during their journeys.

Through these machines, women can obtain free sanitary napkins, enhancing their confidence and comfort while traveling. The initiative aims to create a safe, healthy, and respectful environment for women at railway stations, reflecting Northern Railway’s commitment to social responsibility.

Speaking on the occasion, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Lucknow, Kuldeep Tiwari, said, “Efforts like these for the convenience of women passengers symbolize the sensitivity and service-oriented approach of the Railways. Lucknow Division will continue to advance such public welfare initiatives in the future. This step strengthens the spirit of cleanliness, safety, and dignity while reinforcing Indian Railways’ commitment to women empowerment.”
