Happy Gilmore gets the Eminem feel

Mumbai: Hollywood icon Adam Sandler has confirmed an exciting cameo appearance by hip-hop legend Eminem in the much-anticipated sequel to Happy Gilmore. During a recent interview on The Dan Patrick Show, Sandler revealed the surprise involvement of the Lose Yourself rapper, stirring excitement among fans of both the actor and the musician.

Although Sandler was initially hesitant to disclose too much, he eventually admitted, “Eminem was awesome; he came by and was cool.” He added that the rapper brought his trademark energy and humor during the shoot, joking, “He just kept shooting. We’re glad we have him on tape, with a million things we can use.” However, Sandler refrained from sharing specifics about Eminem’s role or how he convinced the notoriously selective artist to participate in the project.

This revelation follows earlier hints by Christopher McDonald, who famously portrayed the antagonist Shooter McGavin in the 1996 golf comedy. McDonald had teased the sequel’s possibility in March 2024, and Netflix officially announced in May that Sandler would helm the production. Alongside Eminem, the film boasts a star-studded cast, including Margaret Qualley, Travis Kelce, Benny Safdie, and McDonald himself.

The sequel marks a return to the beloved universe of Happy Gilmore, a cult classic blending sports, comedy, and Sandler’s unique humor. Fans will undoubtedly look forward to seeing how Eminem’s cameo adds to the charm of this long-awaited follow-up.
