Lucknow: In a significant organizational move, the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee has appointed noted Dalit thinker and acclaimed writer H L Dusadh as the Chairman of its Ideology Department.
The appointment was made following the recommendation of Avinash Pande, AICC General Secretary in-charge of Uttar Pradesh, and with the approval of state Congress president Ajay Rai.
A Distinguished Career in Writing and Social Thought
Born in 1963 in Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh, H.L. Dusadh spent over three decades in West Bengal, where he shaped his intellectual and professional journey. He is widely recognized for his work on social diversity, earning him the title “Diversity Man of India.”
In 1990, Dusadh proposed a major television serial on the life and struggles of B R Ambedkar to Doordarshan. However, after facing hurdles in securing approval, he chose to leave a promising corporate career at Chloride India and dedicate himself fully to writing and the Bahujan movement from 1997 onward.
Extensive Contribution to Journalism and Academia
Since October 2000, Dusadh has been actively engaged in full-time journalistic writing, focusing extensively on issues of diversity, social justice, and economic inequality. His lectures on diversity—often spanning over an hour—have been delivered at premier institutions such as Banaras Hindu University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, and other universities across the country.
His articles have appeared in leading newspapers including Hindustan, Rashtriya Sahara, Jansatta, Dainik Jagran, and Deshbandhu, establishing him as a prominent voice in socio-political discourse. Dusadh is also known for his impactful presence in television debates.

Author and Founder of Diversity Movement
A prolific author, Dusadh has produced 15 extensive “Diversity Year Books” since 2006, each averaging around 1,000 pages and focusing on economic issues. He has also translated books from English and Bangla and authored over 20 books under the series addressing contemporary issues in India.
He is the founder-president of the Bahujan Diversity Mission (BDM), an organization dedicated to addressing socio-economic inequalities by promoting diversity across key sectors such as education, politics, economy, and religion.
Strengthening Ideological Framework
With his appointment, the Congress party aims to strengthen its ideological framework in Uttar Pradesh by incorporating deeper perspectives on social justice, diversity, and inclusive growth.
Party leaders expressed confidence that Dusadh’s vast experience and intellectual contributions will play a crucial role in shaping the party’s vision and outreach in the state.
