Gurugram: In a shocking and deeply disturbing incident from Gurugram’s Sushant Lok area, in the Gurugram Horor, a father shot his own daughter, a promising state-level tennis player, dead. The 25-year-old athlete, Radhika Yadav, was fatally shot five times by her father, Deepak Yadav, while she was cooking in the kitchen on Thursday. The accused has since been arrested and has confessed to the crime.
No Time to React: Attack from Behind
According to initial police reports, the crime took place inside the family’s two-storey residence. Radhika was preparing food when Deepak approached her from behind and opened fire. She reportedly died on the spot, without a chance to react or defend herself.
Police recovered a licensed .32 bore pistol from the scene, with which the crime was committed. The revolver was found lying near Radhika’s body, soaked in blood on the kitchen floor. Other family members rushed to the scene after hearing the gunshots but were too late.
Disturbing Motive: ‘Taunted by Villagers’
During interrogation, Deepak Yadav offered a chilling explanation for the murder. He told police that he was driven by social humiliation and taunts from villagers, who accused him of living off his daughter’s earnings. Some even questioned Radhika’s character, he claimed.
Deepak admitted to pressuring Radhika to shut down her tennis academy, but she refused. Her rejection, combined with mounting societal pressure, allegedly led him to commit the act.
Mother Denounces Allegations
Radhika’s mother vehemently denied any wrongdoing on her daughter’s part, saying:
“There was nothing wrong with my daughter’s character. Why did he kill her? I have no answers.”
She was visibly distraught, struggling to comprehend the tragedy that had unfolded in their home.
