Prayagraj: Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar actively participated in several significant spiritual rituals during the ongoing Kumbh Mela. He engaged with saints and seers from various Akharas and conducted meditation sessions for thousands of devotees.
Early on the morning of February 2, Gurudev began his day with a sacred Ganga bath at Nagvasuki Ghat, accompanied by followers from across India and abroad. The ghat is located about 800 meters from the Art of Living camp. Following this, he visited the ashram of Satuwa Baba, where he held spiritual discussions with the revered saint. Concurrently, a Rudra Puja and Ganesh Homa were organized at the Art of Living camp situated on Bajrangdas Marg, Sector 8, attracting enthusiastic participation from devotees.
Later in the day, Gurudev visited the Prayagraj Ashram of Swami Avdheshanand Giri Ji, engaging in profound spiritual discourse. At noon, he took a holy dip at the confluence (Sangam), an act of deep devotion, followed by an interaction with saints and seers of the Digambar Akhara.
In a notable gesture of charity, Gurudev, through the Sri Sri Tattva foundation, donated 10 tons of food supplies, including biscuits, ghee, and soy chunks, to various saints and seers managing community kitchens. The Art of Living camp also hosts daily community meals (bhandara), where biscuits and other food items are distributed among the devotees.
Marking the auspicious occasion of Vasant Panchami, a special bhandara was organized by the Art of Living, serving meals to lakhs of devotees.
During an evening interaction with the media, Gurudev remarked, “The Kumbh Mela is a phenomenal experience, offering every individual an opportunity to awaken their spiritual consciousness. It showcases to the world how diverse faiths and sects can coexist and perform rituals in harmony. At a time when global conflicts arise from religious and ideological differences, the Kumbh stands as a living testament to unity in diversity.”
The Vasant Panchami evening also witnessed a grand satsang at the Art of Living’s auditorium, where Gurudev led a meditative session, deeply moving the assembled devotees.
Looking ahead, on February 4, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar will guide a global online meditation session from the sacred grounds of Prayagraj during the Maha Kumbh. This session is expected to connect millions of participants from over 180 countries, fostering a sense of global spiritual unity.
