“GST Savings Festival: Strike on Inflation, Boost for Growth,” Says Dr. Anita Tyagi

Bareilly: Dr. Anita Tyagi, Head of the Humanities Department and Coordinator of the Multilingual Excellence Centre at Rohilkhand University, praised the recent GST reforms announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling them a long-awaited measure that will benefit consumers, promote domestic industries, and simplify taxation.

In an exclusive interview with *The Lucknow Tribune*, Dr. Tyagi highlighted that lower GST rates on essential items such as medicines, food, and educational materials will ease household budgets and curb inflation. Middle- and low-income families will gain “double benefits” from GST cuts combined with income tax relief.

She added that MSMEs, local businesses, and small traders will gain operational freedom, leading to higher employment and faster economic activity. The reforms also encourage the consumption of domestic products, strengthening India’s export potential and supporting the vision of a self-reliant nation.

Key benefits include simplified tax slabs, increased opportunities for youth and digital businesses, and a decisive step toward India’s development by 2047.
