Green Corridor to Connect Sultanpur Road with 4-Lane Road, Boosting Connectivity for 10 Lakh Residents

Lucknow: The ongoing Green Corridor project is set to further improve city connectivity by linking directly to Sultanpur Road. A new 4-lane road will be constructed from the Army Land near Mari Mata Temple, making travel from Gomti Nagar Extension to Arjunganj smoother and benefiting nearly 10 lakh residents in the region.

On Tuesday, Pratimesh Kumar, Vice Chairman of LDA, conducted an on-site inspection of the construction route and directed authorities to expedite the commencement of work. He highlighted that the third phase of the Green Corridor, stretching between Pipraghat and Shaheed Path, currently involves road construction, flyovers, and bridges. The new connection to Sultanpur Road is aimed at enhancing the corridor’s effectiveness and accessibility for the public.

Project Details and Budget
The new stretch will cover approximately 1,800 meters, with an estimated construction cost of ₹33 crore. The implementing agency has been selected through a tender process, and fieldwork is expected to begin shortly under the supervision of the assigned engineers. Once completed, commuters will find it easier to access key locations including the Police Headquarters, Omaxe, and Imaar Township, along with smoother travel from Gomti Nagar Extension to Arjunganj.

Daliganj ROB to Be Completed by June 15
During the inspection, Kumar also reviewed the 1.5-kilometer ROB/flyover being constructed between Daliganj and Pakka Pul. Officials confirmed that NOC from the railway authorities has been obtained. The Vice Chairman instructed that the ROB be completed by June 15 to ensure seamless connectivity. Once operational, the ROB is expected to benefit residents of Khadra, Sitapur Road, Chowk, Hussainabad, and Basant Kunj.

With these developments, the Green Corridor project is poised to significantly enhance traffic flow and provide a major boost to mobility across key sectors of Lucknow.
