Lucknow: A grand cultural programme, “Rang-e-Waris”, dedicated to the teachings of revered Sufi saint Hazrat Haji Waris Ali Shah (R.A.) and the spirit of Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb, was held at the Samajwadi Party headquarters in Lucknow. The event was organized by Sufi Seva Foundation, under the leadership of its founder-chairman Syed Hilal Mujivi Razzaki.
The programme’s chief guest, Samajwadi Party National President and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav, said: “Haji Waris Ali Shah’s message is one of religious unity, humanity, and love. His Ganga-Jamuni culture continues to guide society towards harmony even today.”
The gathering witnessed the presence of distinguished Sajjadanashins and Sufi saints from across India, including Hazrat Ghayasuddin Chishti of Ajmer Sharif, Qari Fasi Razzaki, Hazrat Shoaibul Bakaai, Hazrat Najmul Hasan Usmani, Hazrat Barkat Miyan, Hazrat Adeeb Nizami, Sohail Warsi, Arf Ashraf, Haider Ashraf, Maulana Iqbal Qadri, Mohammad Shakeel Nadvi, Hazrat Shuja Safavi, Haseeb Kidwai, Hazrat Shad Farooqi, and several others, whose spiritual presence graced the evening.

Highlights of the event included Dastangoi, narrating the life and teachings of Hazrat Haji Waris Ali Shah in an artistic manner, soulful Qawwalis in his honor that left the audience spellbound, and scholarly discourses on his contributions to Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb and communal harmony.

The event drew participation from Samajwadi Party leaders, poets, ulema, writers, and intellectuals from across the country. Prominent among them were former MP Uday Pratap Singh, senior leader Mata Prasad Pandey, Rajendra Chaudhary, Shyam Lal Pal, MLC Jasmir Ansari, former MP Arvind Kumar Singh, advocate Imran Ullah, former MLC Udayveer Singh, along with academics, cultural figures, and social leaders.
“Rang-e-Waris” once again reaffirmed that Hazrat Haji Waris Ali Shah’s message transcends religion, echoing universal values of humanity, brotherhood, and love that unite hearts.
